Winelands
South Africa is the seventh largest producer of wine in the world, but only 2% of its product reaches the United States. It is not surprising then that most Americans are unaware of South Africa's long-standing history of winemaking and its striking vineyards.
There are several regions to visit, and many are surrounded by the ocean on one side and dramatic mountains on the other. Be sure you pick up a bottle of Pinotage - a blend of Pinot Noir grapes and Hermitage that is unique to South Africa.
