Oslo City Tour - 4 hours

Drive through the center of Oslo, passing all of the main sights and highlights, including the Royal Palace and the Nobel Institute. View the City Hall, inaugurated in 1950 at Oslo's 900-year jubilee. Akershus Fortress, sitting boldly on the waterfront is today partly a museum and a military area.

Pass the Parliament Building before entering Karl Johan Street, named after the Swedish-Norwegian king in the early part of the 19th century. The oldest part of Oslo University, dating back to 1813, lines this street. It is famous for its interior decoration by the painter Edvard Munch.

You will also pass through attractive villa areas on the way to Vigeland Park. This enormous open-space was laid out in the first half of the 20th century by Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland. Over a period of 30 years, he created his own world of human beings and animals from stone, iron and bronze. There are about 200 statue groups in all, which describe the course of human life from birth to death. The monolith, a 56-foot high granite block carved with 121 figures stands as the unequivocal centerpiece of this well-planned park.

On the Bygdøy Peninsula you will visit the Viking Ship Museum. It houses three authentic longboats dating from the Viking Age, around AD 900-1000, which were excavated from the mudbanks along Oslo fjord. The museum also holds a large collection of items found on board the ships, such as household goods, tools, jewelry and clothing.

Oslo Tour to Drøbak - 5 hours

Located 40 minutes outside of Oslo, on the east side of the Oslo Fjord, lies Drøbak. The narrow 18th- and 19th-century streets lined with small wooden houses give the town an idyllic touch. On an island just outside Drøbak you can visit the fortress Oscarsborg.
The centre of Drøbak is the square Torget where you find the popular Tregaarden's Christmas House and Santa's Post Office. They have Norway's biggest permanent Christmas exhibition and a special Santa Claus post stamp. By the charming boat harbour there is also an Aquarium, with the world's only "lutefisk" museum, and Badeparken a little north of the centre is a great place for swimming.
From Sjøtorget there are regular ferries to the Oscarsborg Fortress. The trip takes 5 minutes.
The construction of the fortress was finished in 1853. It got the name Oscarsborg when king Oscar I visited the fortress in 1855. The fortress has a proud and dramatic history and is best known for the sinking of the German heavy cruiser Blücher on 9 April 1940 during World War II.

Oscarsborg Fortress is a jewel in the Drøbak narrow. In summer, Oscarsborg is perfect for families and for those interested in nature, culture and history. Kristiansund walking tour with Sundbåten ferry and Klipfish Museum– 4 hours
Kristiansund is situated on four islands at the ocean’s edge, what makes of this town one of Norway’s most unique seaports.

In this tour we will move around by foot, but we will also take the ’Sundbåten’ boat, trademark for Kristiansund. The Sundbåten boat has been in service since 1876 and it is the world’s oldest public transport service.

With a charming harbour and the colourful houses around it, Kristiansund is known as ’the capital of the klipfish industry’. For centuries, klipfish was the most important export item from Kristiansund. Cod was salted and dried on the smooth rocks along the coast and then consumed as a great delicacy in southern climes. We will visit the Norwegian Klipfish Museum to learn about this industry. The wharf has been built in stages and the oldest part was built by William Gordon in 1749. It shows the development of the klipfish industry in Norway from the 18th century up until the post-war period. Klipfish was produced there until very recently. The atmosphere inside the wharf is unique, with the odor of klipfish and salt hanging in the air.

We continue the tour in Kirkelandet island, passing by lake Vanndammen towards Varden Viewpoint where we willl enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the coastline with mountiains and fjords. Before ending out tour we will see the outisde of Kirkeland church, designed by the architect Odd Østby on the theme "Rock Crystals In Roses ". Consecrated in 1964, this is perhaps Norway's most daring church building: when light flows through the 320 colour glass windows in all shades of red and yellow, the 30-metre high chancel wall is transformed into a symphony of colours.

Experience the warm and convivial atmosphere unique to Oceania Cruises: elegance without pretense. Feel wonderfully at home as you meet fellow shipmates, explore the ship, and prepare for the fascinating ports of call you will soon discover. Meet friends for cocktails at Martinis and share adventures you enjoyed ashore. Join an afternoon bridge game, or perhaps simply relax by yourself in one of the many private retreats reserved just for you.

The stimulating variety of entertainment options on board Oceania's ships continually ensures your interests are piqued. Enjoy an engaging guest lecture by a historian, naturalist, or former ambassador eager to share insider knowledge. Relax at a musical performance, perhaps featuring a live pianist, a classical string quartet, a dynamic vocalist, or a spectacular headliner. Later, try your luck at the elegant Monte Carlo-style casino or go dancing at Horizons.

Tipping Policy
How much you choose to tip is a personal matter and completely at your discretion. For your convenience, the following gratuities are automatically added to your shipboard account.

  • For guests occupying staterooms, gratuities of $16.00 per guest, per day will be added.
  • For guests occupying Penthouse, Oceania, Vista, or Owner's Suites where Butler Service is provided, gratuities of $23.00 per guest, per day will be added.
  • In addition, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to all beverage purchases, spa services, and dinner at La Reserve.

Naturally, guests may adjust gratuities while on board the vessel at their sole discretion.

Shipboard Policies
  • Special Dietary Needs - Advance Notice Required
Special arrangements can be made for guests requiring diabetic, gluten-free, lactose-free, kosher, vegetarian, and vegan meals. Other diets must be requested for approval and, in some cases, may require additional medical documentation.

  • Smoking Policy
For the safety and security of all guests and staff on board, there are Designated Smoking Areas available onboard. These areas are comfortably furnished and conveniently located near food and beverage areas. Smoking is expressly forbidden in all staterooms and suites, on verandas, or in any areas of the ship other than officially Designated Smoking Areas. Smoking in a stateroom or suite or on a veranda represents a serious fire and safety hazard to all guests and staff. Guests choosing to disregard this policy will be disembarked at the next port of call and may also be subject to additional fees that will be imposed to cover the costs associated with any damage to and the required cleaning of furnishings, verandas, and surrounding deck and accommodation areas. All areas other than those specified as Designated Smoking Areas will remain smoke-free. This includes all guest suites and staterooms, verandas, restaurants, public areas, the Casino, and all other areas of the ship. Cigar and pipe smoking is only permitted on the forward, starboard corner of the Pool Deck. The use of electronic cigarettes is allowed within designated smoking areas only.

  • Medical Emergencies
Oceania Cruises has established contacts throughout the world with several different emergency rooms/hospitals where onboard doctors can refer patients for medical care.

  • Pregnancy Policy
Oceania Cruises is unable to accommodate women past their sixth month of pregnancy.

  • Wheelchair Access & Special Needs
Guests with any medical condition(s) or special needs that may require treatment or attention or accommodation during the voyage, or needing to travel with medical apparatus, including wheelchairs, motorized scooters, oxygen therapy, etc., must advise Oceania Cruises in writing at the time of deposit. Please note some ports of call may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility and in such cases, may disallow debarkation with a wheelchair or motorized scooter or for any individual with limited mobility. Oceania Cruises is unable to accommodate women past their sixth month of pregnancy. Oceania Cruises has the right to refuse or revoke passage to anyone who, in its judgment, is in a physical, mental or emotional condition unfit for travel or whose comfort onboard may be compromised due to situations beyond the care that can be provided by Oceania Cruises. Oceania Cruises will under appropriate circumstances permit its guests to use special equipment such as those noted above, which satisfy the criteria stated in the Oceania Cruises' Policy Statement.

    Wheelchair Assistance

If a guest needs wheelchair assistance at embarkation and debarkation, the request must be communicated prior to departure so appropriate arrangements for assistance can be made. If a guest is requesting wheelchair assistance at the airport, they must contact the airline directly.

    Oxygen

Oceania Cruises does not provide oxygen for guests. If a guest requires oxygen, they will need to bring it on board with them. The guest may contact a supply company that will deliver it to the ship for them. Oceania will need to know how many containers, what size they are, and the type. Liquid oxygen is not allowed on board Oceania ships at any time. If the guest needs oxygen for their flights, they will need to arrange it directly with the airline.

    Delivery of Medical Equipment

Having medical equipment brought on board is handled on a case by case basis. Oceania Cruises must receive the full dimensions, description of the equipment, name of the delivery company, and all other pertinent information prior to the cruise.

  • Currency
Oceania Cruises uses a cashless system based on the U.S. dollar. All onboard purchases and services, other than the casino, will be billed to an onboard account. You will be required to register an American Express, Mastercard, or Visa card during the embarkation process.

  • Electrical
Each stateroom has two 110 volt outlets and two 220 volt outlets which can be used for items such as battery chargers, hair dryers, razors, and personal hygiene items.
