HIGHLIGHTS

  • St Malo: Walled and built with the same grey granite stone as Mont St Michel, ST-MALO was originally in the Middle Ages a fortified island at the mouth of the Rance, controlling not only the estuary but the open sea beyond. In later centuries it became notorious as the home of a fierce breed of pirate-mariners, who were never quite under anybody's control but their own; for four years from 1590, St-Malo even declared itself to be an independent republic. The corsaires of St-Malo not only forced English ships passing up the Channel to pay tribute, but also brought wealth from further afield.

The Jerónimos Monastery, masterpiece of the Manueline style and a tribute to the king that welcomed and protected the Jews that fled from Spain and then expelled them in 1496. The Monument to the Discoveries where you will have the opportunity to see the faces of Jewish men that participated actively in the Portuguese Golden Age of the Discoveries.

The Monument to the Discoveries celebrates the Portuguese who took part in the Age of Discovery. It is located on the estuary of the Tagus river. The monument consists of a 52 metre-high slab of concrete, carved into the shape of the prow of a caravel with its sails unfurled.

Belém Tower is a fortified tower located in the Belém district of Lisbon. It was built in the early 16th century in the Portuguese late gothic style, the manueline, and is one of the symbols of the city.

The Commerce Square with the beautiful façade of the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceiçao Velha. The Church’s greatest highlight is its Manueline Portal representing Our Lady of Mercy, which was part of the ancient Misericórdia Church, featuring a tympanum with the images of the king D. Manuel the 1st, the Queen D. Leonor (sister of King Manuel and founder of the Order of Mercy) and Pope Leo X, the Rossio square and the gothic revival elevator de Santa Justa. The heart of the city is the Baixa or city centre; this area is being considered for UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
The Museu Nacional do Azulejo or National tile museum is renowned for not only for its Azulejo (tile) collection but also for its location. Azulejo is a cherished Portuguese tradition that has enjoyed uninterrupted production for five centuries. Azulejo is glazed, ceramic tilework that is usually blue. It is a major component of Portuguese architecture and is found throughout the country on ceilings, floors, walls of churches, palaces, and homes. This museum occupies the ancient Convent of Madre de Deus (Mother of God), built in 1509 by Queen D. Leonor, and adjoining buildings including Saint Antony’s Chapel and a church noted for its Baroque style.

The castle of Sao George is located on one of the seven hills of Lisbon, to the east of the Baixa. In the context of the Christian Reconquista the castle and the city of Lisbon were retaken from the Moors by King Alfonso Henriques with the help of Northern European crusaders taking part on the Second Crusade. The castle was dedicated to Saint George in the late 14th century by King John I.

Lisbon's ancient cathedral was built by Portugal's first king on the site of an old mosque in 1150 for the city's first bishop, the English crusader Gilbert of Hastings. From outside (with two bell towers and a splendid rose window) it resembles a medieval fortress, while inside it appears predominantly Romanesque, with a Gothic choir and ambulatory.

Jewish people were the advisors of Kings and Queens, doctors and even some of the explorers, geographers and mathematicians. The tour will start with a general introduction to the Jewish presence of the city, followed by a nice walk in the city centre passing by the site of the 1506 Jewish Massacre near the Church of Sao Domingos and the most well preserved Alfama Jewish and medieval Quarter. Alfama is a village within a city still made up of narrow streets, tiny squares, churches, and whitewashed houses with tile panels and wrought-iron balconies adorned with pots of flowers, drying laundry, and caged birds.

With the abolition of the Inquisition in 1821, families of Sephardic Jews decided to return to Portugal. Most of these Jews were merchants from Morocco and Gibraltar. These were people with a cultural level greatly above average. They could read, speak and write in liturgical Hebrew, Arabic, English and Hakitia, the Moroccan judeo-hispanic dialect.

We will continue our tour with a visit to the only Synagogue of Lisbon (Shaaré Tikvá), passing by the Commerce Square, the place where thousands of Jews were forced to be baptized in the 15th century.

Fado (translated as destiny
or fate) is a music genre which can be traced from the 1820s in Portugal, but
probably with much earlier origins. It is characterized by mournful tunes and
lyrics, often about the sea or the life of the poor. The music is usually linked
to the Portuguese word saudade, a word with no accurate English translation.
(It is a kind of longing, and conveys a complex mixture of mainly nostalgia,
but also sadness, pain, happiness and love). Some enthusiasts claim that Fado's
origins are a mixture of African slave rhythms with the traditional music of
Portuguese sailors and Arabic influence.

Sintra is one of the most
delightful places to be found in Portugal. With its extensive range of green
bills with its crags - the Serra de Sintra - so picturesquely situated and offering
stupendous views of the coastline with its impressive beauty, Sintra is indeed
"a garden of the earthly paradise". The artistic heritage of the Old Town, described
by Byron as "the most pleasing in Europe", also include valuable archaeological
remains, particularly from the Roman period, ancient manor houses, churches
of personalised artistic value and characteristic villages.

The National Palace is consisting
of various bodies built during the course of successive epochs on the so-called
"Chão da Oliva", the Paço da Vila de Sintra is one of the most important examples
of regal architecture in Portugal and for that reason is classified as a National
Monument. This gradual multiplication of buildings, with different styles, is
largely responsible for the enigmatic enchantment of this ancient palace, dominated
by great twin chimneys atop the kitchen that constitute as authentic ex-libris
of Sintra.

Cascais was a small fishing
port throughout early history as it lies protected from nature's elements at
the mouth of the Rio Tejo. When in 1870 the King, Luís I, chose to convert the
17th Century building of the Citadela into his summer residence Cascais soon
became a very fashionable town and aristocratic palaces and mansions followed.
The Citadel or Fort of Cascais is a 16th century fortress built to protect the
Bay of Cascais. Today, Cascais now boasts smart new Marina with lovely yachts.

Just outside the town is
the famous Boca do Inferno in which the sea on rougher days hammers into the
rock and creates a booming noise and a spectacular spray thus creating its name
which in English means "mouth of hell".

Estoril town was really
created from the curious needs of the two World Wars. It became a prime location
for European royal exiles forced to leave their own countries. It has been the
residence of King Umberto II of Italy, Juan de Bourbon of Spain, Karl Hapsburg
of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and King Carol of Rumania. The many modest yet
architecturally interesting mansions still remain to indicate their royal owners.
At its height its visitors referred to Estoril as the "Portuguese Riviera".
A Casino with wide surrounding avenues and spacious gardens, a golf course,
all of which soon appeared and then flanked by large hotels and impressive private
homes.

In 1148 Dom Afonso Henriques
recaptured the town of Obidos from the Moors. Later in 1282, the King of Portugal
Dom Dinis made a wedding present of the town Obidos to his new wife Dona Isabel.
It is charming small and fortified town that has been carefully preserved. Impressive
18th Century blue tiles line the walls within the southern gate that is appropriately
known as Porta da Vila and acts as the main entrance.

Alcobaça is a town that
became notable in the 12th Century when it was the site for the important construction
of Portugal's largest church. In the month of March in 1147 the fledgling King,
Dom Afonso Henriques, defeated the Moors by capturing the town of Santarém.
As a suitable memory to this splendid victory he vowed to build a magnificent
home for the Order of Cistercians. In the church are the tombs of King Pedro
I and his murdered mistress, Inês de Castro and with this is the tragic story
of the liaison between Pedro and his ever-lasting love for Inês.

The well-known fishing
village of Nazaré is now a small town and a popular holiday resort with a boulevard,
bars and restaurants. The inhabitants have retained some of their past as can
be still seen in their own particular style of costume and women still wearing
the traditional dress, a black kerchief and the seven flannel skirts.

Located in the region of
Leiria, the small town and Basilica of Fatima is one of the most visited Marian
Shrines in the world. Begun in 1928 and consecrated on 7 October 1953, its 15
altars are dedicated to the 15 mysteries of the Rosary.

The painting above the high
altar depicts the Message of Our Lady to the little shepherds, prepared by the
Angel of Portugal, through their encounter with Christ in the Eucharist. Scenes
of the apparitions are represented in stained glass, as well as invocations
from the Litany of Our Lady.

The Perpetual Adoration
Chapel is situated at the end of the colonnade, on the eastern side, this chapel
for perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament exposed, is a place of silent
prayer and adoration.

The Chapel of Apparitions
in the very heart of the Sanctuary. It was the first edifice constructed in
the Cova da Iria, at the place of Our Lady´s Apparitions. The exact spot is
marked by a marble pillar on which the Statue of Our Lady is placed.

Bairro Alto is a picturesque working class quarter dating from the 16th century that has traditionally been the city's bohemian haunt of artists and writers.  Its grid of streets is quiet during the day, but is transformed at night into the city's vibrant nightlife quarter. Behind colorful and graffiti-ridden façades, is a variety of traditional and international restaurants, tourist-packed Fado Houses, and a multitude of bars and alternative shops that stay open until late at night. Neighboring Chiado is an elegant, sophisticated district of theaters, bookshops, old-style cafes, art nouveau jewelry shops and luxurious international names.

The church of Sao Roque with the plainest façade in Lisbon has one of the city's richest interiors. Each of the chapels is a masterpiece of Baroque art but the showpiece is the fourth one on the left, the "world's most expensive chapel."

Created through the efforts of Queen Amélia of Orleans and Bragança, wife of King Carlos I, the Royal Coach Museum, as it was then named, was inaugurated on May 23, 1905. The Museum is containing one of the largest collections of royal coaches in the world.

The Palace of the Marquesses of Fronteira was built in 1671 as a hunting pavilion to Dom João de Mascarenhas, 1st Marquis of Fronteira, who received his title from King Alfonso VI of Portugal for his loyalty to the House of Braganza in the Portuguese Restoration War. The palace is still located in a very quiet area, near the Monsanto Forest Park. The house and the garden have glazed tiles representing different themes such as battles or monkeys playing trumpets.

The ruins of the Do Carmo Gothic convent &  church are evocative reminders of the devastation left by the 1755 earthquake. At the time of the earthquake it was the largest church in Lisbon, but today the roofless nave open to the sky is all that remains of the arches and rubble that caved in on the congregation as they were attending mass.

Lisbon: Full day excursion to Evora
This tour invites you to explore Évora, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage City, due to its excellent preservation along the centuries. Visit the cathedral, the Church of St. Francis and the Chapel of the Bones, the University, the old town and the Giraldo Square.

After leaving Lisbon, we will drive to Évora by the countryside roads of Alentejo, for a beautiful sightseeing tour by car. In Évora, we will have enough time to walk in its historical center and "feel" the atmosphere of this town. A world of unexpected contrasts awaits you in the unique city of Evora. It has a history more than two thousand years old. You’ll see labyrinthine streets, squares flooded with light, Renaissance fountains, Moorish courtyards and Gothic doorways and turrets. After reaching the walled city our guide will invite you to visit the enigmatic church of St. Francis and its Chapel of the Bones.

The tour will continue up the narrow streets of the old town reaching the Giraldo Square where the Inquisition once had its headquarters. You will also have time to explore the millennium old Roman Temple and have a glimpse at the 12th century cathedral. The distant 16th century Évora thrived with culture and tradition in its university as much as it still does today. During a short visit to the century old university courtyard, you will understand why Évora was once the second most important city of Portugal. The Romans created the elegant temple, battlements and baths, and the Moorish “Yeborah” influenced the urban network of the Mouraria district. Conquered in the time of King Afonso Henriques, the city captured the imagination of the kings of Portugal. King João II chose it for the wedding of his successor to the daughter of the Catholic Monarchs. One of the most ostentatious celebrations ever seen in the late Middle Ages. King Manuel I established his court in Évora as did King João III.

Nobility accompanied the monarchs and built luxurious palaces, families such as the Counts of Basto and the Dukes of Cadaval settled here. It was at this time that the Royal Palace and large convents were built, such as the Convent of São Francisco. The Royal Palace is an unusual combination of the Gothic style with the decorative influence of Islam, whilst the Convent of São Francisco is one of the finest churches in Portugal. The 16th Century was a golden age for the city. Artists from Flanders, Italy and Spain flocked here to make their mark. Masters of humanities came from Salamanca and Paris to join the University, which was founded in 1553 and still functions today. Due to its historical significance, UNESCO has classified Évora as a World Heritage site.

Since it was the property of the queens of Portugal, Obidos always enjoyed special protection from the royal court and at one time had a school of arts and sciences. Resultado de imagem para castelo de sao jorge lisboa

Today, with the assistance of your guide, visit the Sha'are Tikva (Gates of Hope) Synagogue. In 1871 the Jews of Lisbon were granted permission to build a synagogue, a dream not fully realized until the dedication of the Shaare Tikva in 1904. The synagogue served as the centre of Jewish life in Lisbon thereafter; it was a sanctuary for the thousands of Jewish refugees who passed through Portugal during World War II.

For lunch (not included) we suggest an informal and cheerful restaurant whit natural blend of the traditional and the modern. The cuisine, largely Portuguese inspired, is nevertheless influenced by travels abroad.

Passing the Rossio, the original headquarters of the Inquisition, reach the Largo da Graça, from where you can admire the magnificent city view, the Tagus River, and the “Seven Hills” of Lisbon. Continue to Porta do Sol, descending on foot through Alfama, Lisbon's oldest area.

The city's legendary seven hills will also seduce you into admiring characteristic mosaic pavements and dazzling tiled façades, and will reward you with strategically-placed viewpoints offering breathtaking panoramas over the city after a ride on a charming old tram.

Explore the Alfama district, the Lisbon heart during Moorish times. The Moors have moved on, but the neighborhood retains an exotic atmosphere. Visit to the St. Georges Castle formerly a Moorish citadel. The castle boasts panoramic views of the city.

You'll find yourself wandering through colorful XVIII century squares downtown and getting lost in the medieval maze of the Alfama district overlooked by an ancient castle. Jewish refugees from Spain settled here in the fifteenth century. The entrance to the neighborhood’s Jewish quarter, or Judiaría, was through the Arco de Rosario.

Just inside the arch is a brick wall with a pair of decorative arched windows near the top - all that remains of what is believed to have been the quarter's synagogue. Up the winding stairway just inside the arch is the Rua da Judiaría, the central artery of the former Jewish quarter. The typical medieval houses have a narrow door that was the family entrance and a wider one that often housed the place of business, such as a shop or workshop.

Your journey continues to Monsaraz. Lunch will be served (not included) at a former olive oil factory converted in a local restaurant with industrial archeology. Even the olive oil presses reveal themselves as picture frames, one freshly finished while the next waits empty, until others come to paint them in, so that diners can glance over to find their senses aroused right up to the last mouthful.

Time to explore, on your own, the medieval town of Monsaraz village. It is a truly unique place where one can find all the peace and tranquility that have been forgotten by the modern era.

Stop at a local store dating back 1830 with the regional blankets and tapestry is highly recommended. It’s a small shop that sells colorful refined blankets and shawls woven according to local traditions and which are sold internationally at KENZO Home, after the company’s founder Kenzo Takada visited the 19th century factory himself.

Discover Manhattan: From Central Park to Battery Park
The most popular part of New York City is the area between Central Park and Battery Park.  Within those borders are some of the world’s most famous places: The Empire State Building, Chinatown, Grand Central Terminal, the 9/11 Memorial, the Brooklyn Bridge, the South Street Seaport, Washington Square Arch, Little Italy, Rockefeller Center, and Times Square.  On tour with a private guide you will see, hear, and explore the city.  In some cases you will get out and walk around so you can truly experience Gotham.  This tour is customizable.  We can focus on art, cuisine, architecture, walking, or a mix of everything.

High Line, Chelsea Market & Meatpacking District
Until 1958, the building that houses the famous Chelsea Market was a Nabisco factory, and less than 20 years ago, it was used for light manufacturing.
Fifteen years ago, the area known as the Meatpacking District was known for just that, plus some really “interesting” night clubs, and many used the street as a place to do business.

About 10 years ago, the park called the High Line was an abandoned elevated railway and the park was only on paper.

Today, the area is one of the hottest in Manhattan. Chelsea Market has some of the best food purveyors in the city. Bring your appetite and get something to eat. The Meatpacking District, with its cobblestone streets, still has some grit and its checkered past along with all kinds of new development mixed in. You’ll learn a lot from your guide who will point out things only a professional will know. The most important addition to the area has been the High Line Park, which went from urban decay to metropolitan oasis. Walk a portion of the High Line with your guide as she tells you its secrets and stories.

Please note that this tour is for parties of five or less.

Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island
Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty was a gift of international friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States.  It is one of the most universal symbols of political freedom and democracy.  The views of the Statue from the water are breathtaking and reminiscent of what immigrants first saw entering New York Harbor.

Ellis Island
Ellis Island opened in 1892 and was the entry point for European immigrants for more than 60 years.  Twelve million people passed through the halls that are now the historical Ellis Island Immigration Museum.  Walk through the Great Hall as the new Americans once did – ancestors of more than half of the US population.  You can search for your family surname on the American Immigrant wall of Honor.  With over 600,000 entries, it is the longest wall of names in the world.

Williamsburg & Greenpoint
In North Brooklyn, Williamsburg and adjacent Greenpoint offer a rich array of charms and curiosities, mixing history and modernity. Once industrial neighborhoods and immigrant centers, they have boomed in recent years, thanks to civic improvement and proximity to Manhattan. They offer waterfront views of Manhattan, quirky shopping, delicious food, and various arts.
Williamsburg, Brooklyn’s best-known “hipster” zone, features the longtime home of the Brooklyn Brewery, Brooklyn’s new hotel district (including a reclaimed factory), and bustling shopping streets, from homemade crafts to the borough’s first Apple store. In South Williamsburg, an enclave of ultra-Orthodox Hasidic Jews maintains 19th century traditions with a 21st century twist.

Adjacent Greenpoint contains a handsome historic district and several historic churches. While Williamsburg-style gentrification has drifted north, bringing new shopping, food, and nightspots, Greenpoint maintains an enduring Polish presence and has two small, lovely parks.

Coney Island and Little Odessa
Drive to Manhattan Beach, the more upscale neighborhood of Brighton Beach, with its beautiful single-family homes form the late 19th century.  You will begin to think that you are no longer in New York, but a Russian city.  The shops’ signage is in a foreign alphabet and the markets are full of Russian-made goods.  Besides the ethnic attraction, it was also the childhood home of writer/producer/comedian Mel Brooks and playwright Neil Simon, who put the neighborhood on the stage with Brighton Beach Memoirs.  Your guide will take you through the historic sights and shops.

As you enter the ever-popular, world-famous Coney Island, the first thing you will notice is that it’s not an island.  Coney Island was connected to Brooklyn with landfill in 1920; now it is best known for hotdogs, amusement parks, and the Cyclone.  Coney Island is full of iconic history that has created the legend it’s become.  You will walk along the famous boardwalk and even dip a toe in the Atlantic Ocean.

One of the best-kept secrets of the City of New York is Brooklyn Heights, a beautiful district in Brooklyn.  Some historians call it one of the first suburbs in the United States.  Brooklyn Heights is unique as it radiates a hometown atmosphere while situated right next door to one of the most recognizable cityscapes in the world.  In 1964, Brooklyn Heights was the first area designated as a New York City Historic District; you will understand why as you see Federal style homes built in the 1820s, brick and brownstone homes from the 1830s and 1840s, and two Italianate mansions that overlook Pierrepont Street.

Brooklyn Bridge
Opened in 1883 after thirteen years of construction, the Brooklyn Bridge was built across the East River to connect Manhattan with the then-rural city of Brooklyn.  From the beginning, the bridge’s designer, John A. Roebling, planned not just a structure of convenience, but a great work of art that would stand the test of time.  The Brooklyn Bridge is a fully accessible bridge, with a center lane above traffic open to bicycle and pedestrian traffic.  Your fully guided tour takes you on a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge; a walk taken every day by commuters and tourists, and during times of crisis, such as after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11.

The tour also includes an exploration around City Hall Park and the DUMBO neighborhood in Brooklyn.

The Life of Alexander Hamilton
Alexander Hamilton was a real New Yorker. Immigrant, broke when he got here, worked hard, lived in multiple neighborhoods, spoke his mind, always hustling for a better job, and knew he was better than everyone else. You can trace his life through the streets of Manhattan. From the only house he owned in Harlem, to where he worked as the Secretary of Treasury in the Financial District. His widow Eliza lived in a townhouse in East Village which still stands and there are traces of Aaron Burr, the “damn fool that shot Hamilton”, all over the borough. See the spot of the original building where Hamilton, Jefferson and Madison negotiated the Compromise of 1790 (“room where it happened”) and the university where he got a scholarship (not where he punched the bursar). This tour is a must for any Hamilton fan, history buff or anyone who wants to be cool at the next cocktail or tea party.

Tour will include the following sights:
  • Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House
  • Hamilton Grange National Memorial
  • The Morris-Jumel Mansion
  • Trinity Church

This tour can be extended to six to seven hours to include the spot in Weehawken, NJ where the famous duel that ended Hamilton’s life took place.

The Floor is Yours at Madison Square Garden
When you look at the court from close up, and by close up I mean when you are walking on it, it does not seem that big.  You say to yourself, “I can run up and down this thing.”  You take a few shots, a few go in, some hit the rim, a few “wow, that was bad” shots.  You are warming up because in just a few minutes a pro basketball player is going to walk onto the court and you want to be able to show him what you got.  When he gets there you give him the look that you are ready and his gives you the eye and says, “Take the shot.”  Swish, and you feel like a million bucks.  So now the two of you are on the court and he is showing you the moves of the game; how to dunk, free throw, and guard.  Never did you think you would get a chance to be at Madison Square Garden, playing with one of your heroes.  You make it last as long as you can, then get some photos with you and your temporary basketball coach.  Do not forget that last free throw, and then let him sign the ball, because you are taking it home.

SoHo
Like most of the developing city in the early years, SoHo (which stands for South of Houston Street – and by the way, it’s pronounced How-ston) started as a small village.  Over time, the neighborhood went from the wealthiest, to the most industrial, to a slum called “Hell’s 100 acres.”  Now it is back to trendy again.  SoHo is one of the most stylish neighborhoods in New York City, with clues of its past around every corner.  Several of its cast iron buildings built in the mid-1800s still stand.  As you explore the area, you will get the feel of its many cobblestone streets.  When artists arrived in SoHo in the 1970s, they began the revival of the neighborhood.  You’ll visit two of SoHo’s famed art galleries, including the Earth Room.  Next to SoHo is NoLIta – which is Northern Little Italy.  The area is home to the old St. Patrick’s Cathedral.  One story in particular your guide will impart is the 1799 murder of Elma Sands, the “Ghost of Spring Street.”

The Origins of NYC Sightseeing Program
New York traces its rich history to Lower Manhattan, the meeting point of the Hudson River and the East River.  Originally named Nieuw (New) Amsterdam, New York City began as a small Dutch settlement in what is now known as Lower Manhattan.  Broadway, which was then called Heere Straat (Gentleman Street), was nothing but a small road.  Wall Street actually had a wall back in 1653 to protect the settlers from attacks.  As the city grew, so did the nation.  New York was the first capital of the United States and the spot where George Washington was inaugurated is marked by his statue.  Over the years, Lower Manhattan has become the financial capital of the world.  Today, the streets are teeming with people and filled with stories of New York’s past, present, and future.  As you explore Lower Manhattan with your guide, you’ll see the 9/11 Memorial, St. Paul’s Chapel, Battery Park, and Trinity Church as you learn about the history of the Native Americans, Dutch, and English.

New York's Big Three
Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park: these three sights make up one of the most popular triangles in the world. All within walking distance of one another, they are three of the most visited places in New York City. This walking tour will take you to each location, showing specific highlights and pointing out well-known locations from television and motion pictures.

Central Park
More than just a green space in the middle of Manhattan Island, it is an 843-acre oasis, 150 years in the making, and a favorite retreat for New Yorkers. An essential part of the urban landscape, Central Park is a place no New Yorker can live without. You will follow your guide on the park’s winding paths, over the bridges, through the tunnels, and learn how the architects Olmsted and Vaux created New York’s “backyard”.

Times Square
Also known as “The Great White Way”, located at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. Don’t let the name fool you, it is actually more a triangle of intersecting major streets. It got its name when the NY Times building was built there, long before it was a showcase of neon lights and jumbo digital screens, and the name has stuck ever since.

Rockefeller Center
Located in the center of Midtown Manhattan and a complex of 19 commercial buildings, it is NYC’s top tourist attraction. John D. Rockefeller Jr.’s resolution to make Rockefeller Center contemporary and innovative can be felt with every artwork and attraction.

New York City: A Cultural Walk Through Little Italy and Chinatown - 4 Hours

Highlights:

There are numerous ethnic groups in New York City, but only two have neighborhoods named after them: one is Little Italy, and the other is Chinatown. Little Italy was formed in the late 1800s as millions of Italian immigrants streamed into the United States. All the signs are in Chinese, the languages spoken are all dialects of Chinese, the produce and food shops sell many items you will not recognize. It is a submersion into another culture. Join your guide on this walking tour and find out what is below the surface that makes both these neighborhoods even more unique and intriguing.
