Discover Manhattan: From Central Park to Battery Park
The most popular part of New York City is the area between Central Park and Battery Park.  Within those borders are some of the world’s most famous places: The Empire State Building, Chinatown, Grand Central Terminal, the 9/11 Memorial, the Brooklyn Bridge, the South Street Seaport, Washington Square Arch, Little Italy, Rockefeller Center, and Times Square.  On tour with a private guide you will see, hear, and explore the city.  In some cases you will get out and walk around so you can truly experience Gotham.  This tour is customizable.  We can focus on art, cuisine, architecture, walking, or a mix of everything.

High Line, Chelsea Market & Meatpacking District
Until 1958, the building that houses the famous Chelsea Market was a Nabisco factory, and less than 20 years ago, it was used for light manufacturing.
Fifteen years ago, the area known as the Meatpacking District was known for just that, plus some really “interesting” night clubs, and many used the street as a place to do business.

About 10 years ago, the park called the High Line was an abandoned elevated railway and the park was only on paper.

Today, the area is one of the hottest in Manhattan. Chelsea Market has some of the best food purveyors in the city. Bring your appetite and get something to eat. The Meatpacking District, with its cobblestone streets, still has some grit and its checkered past along with all kinds of new development mixed in. You’ll learn a lot from your guide who will point out things only a professional will know. The most important addition to the area has been the High Line Park, which went from urban decay to metropolitan oasis. Walk a portion of the High Line with your guide as she tells you its secrets and stories.

Please note that this tour is for parties of five or less.

Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island
Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty was a gift of international friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States.  It is one of the most universal symbols of political freedom and democracy.  The views of the Statue from the water are breathtaking and reminiscent of what immigrants first saw entering New York Harbor.

Ellis Island
Ellis Island opened in 1892 and was the entry point for European immigrants for more than 60 years.  Twelve million people passed through the halls that are now the historical Ellis Island Immigration Museum.  Walk through the Great Hall as the new Americans once did – ancestors of more than half of the US population.  You can search for your family surname on the American Immigrant wall of Honor.  With over 600,000 entries, it is the longest wall of names in the world.

New York City: Brooklyn Essential Walking Tour - 4 Hours

Brooklyn Essential Walking Tour

Highlights:

Brooklyn Bridge - Opened in 1883 after thirteen years of construction and was built across the East River to connect Manhattan with the then-rural city of Brooklyn. From the beginning, the bridge’s designer, John A. Roebling, planned not just a structure of convenience, but a great work of art that would stand the test of time. The Brooklyn Bridge is a fully accessible bridge, with a center lane above traffic open to bicycle and pedestrian traffic. Your fully guided tour takes you on a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge; a walk taken every day by commuters and tourists, and during times of crisis, such as after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11. Brooklyn Heights- One of the best-kept secrets of the City of New York is Brooklyn Heights, a beautiful district in Brooklyn. Some historians call it one of the first suburbs in the United States. Brooklyn Heights is unique as it radiates a hometown atmosphere while situated right next door to one of the most recognizable cityscapes in the world. In 1964, Brooklyn Heights was the first area designated as a New York City Historic District. You will understand why as you see Federal style homes built in the 1820s, brick and brownstone homes from the 1830s and 1840s, and two Italianate mansions that overlook Pierrepont Street. DUMBO- DUMBO’s name is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, and the span gives the creatively oriented neighborhood much of its character—as do cobblestone streets and dramatic architecture left over from its industrial days. Today, DUMBO features art galleries, independent bookshops, boutiques, confectionaries, and waterfront parks where locals and tourists thrive. DUMBO offers some of the best photo ops including the Empire State Building framed by the Manhattan Bridge.

  • 4-Hours with a private guide.

  • Guests will walk across the Brooklyn Bridge from the Manhattan side where they will learn the history and view the spectacular skyline. Guests will then venture into Brooklyn Heights which is a posh residential area filled with elegant brownstones. Here, guests will learn about the culture and the history of the area which is often referred to as the first suburb in the United States. Guests will also visit the waterfront park before heading to DUMBO and then back to Manhattan.

  • During the tour you may also see: Dumbo Art Galleries, views of Lady Liberty, Manhattan Bridge and Empire State Building (indoor entrance tickets are not included for any locations).
  • All stops, timing and inclusions of the tour are dependent on traffic and weather conditions.

  • We can customize the tour and stops to fit your needs upon request.

New York City: The Life of Alexander Hamilton Private Tour - 5 Hours
Alexander Hamilton was a real New Yorker. Immigrant, broke when he got here, worked hard, lived in multiple neighborhoods, spoke his mind, always hustling for a better job, and knew he was better than everyone else. You can trace his life through the streets of Manhattan. From the only house he owned in Harlem, to where he worked as the Secretary of Treasury in the Financial District. His widow Eliza lived in a townhouse in East Village which still stands and there are traces of Aaron Burr, the “damn fool that shot Hamilton”, all over the borough. See the spot of the original building where Hamilton, Jefferson and Madison negotiated the Compromise of 1790 (“room where it happened”) and the university where he got a scholarship (not where he punched the bursar). This tour is a must for any Hamilton fan, history buff or anyone who wants to be cool at the next cocktail or tea party.

Tour will include the following sights:
  • Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House
  • Hamilton Grange National Memorial
  • The Morris-Jumel Mansion (Friday through Sunday only)
  • Trinity Church

SoHo
Like most of the developing city in the early years, SoHo (which stands for South of Houston Street – and by the way, it’s pronounced How-ston) started as a small village.  Over time, the neighborhood went from the wealthiest, to the most industrial, to a slum called “Hell’s 100 acres.”  Now it is back to trendy again.  SoHo is one of the most stylish neighborhoods in New York City, with clues of its past around every corner.  Several of its cast iron buildings built in the mid-1800s still stand.  As you explore the area, you will get the feel of its many cobblestone streets.  When artists arrived in SoHo in the 1970s, they began the revival of the neighborhood.  You’ll visit two of SoHo’s famed art galleries, including the Earth Room.  Next to SoHo is NoLIta – which is Northern Little Italy.  The area is home to the old St. Patrick’s Cathedral.  One story in particular your guide will impart is the 1799 murder of Elma Sands, the “Ghost of Spring Street.”

Skyscrapers
Few city skylines are as recognizable as that of New York City.  The Empire State Building, MetLife Building, Chrysler Building, and other iconic structures have featured prominently in film and television and have become part of America’s national identity.
On this fully guided tour, you will visit skyscrapers of every style, shape, and size.  Learn why there are skyscrapers in some areas and not others, and why the Empire State Building used to be called the Empty State Building.  The tour ends at Rockefeller Center, where you can take a trip to the top of the Rock, the 70th floor observation deck, if you wish.

The Origins of NYC Sightseeing Program
New York traces its rich history to Lower Manhattan, the meeting point of the Hudson River and the East River.  Originally named Nieuw (New) Amsterdam, New York City began as a small Dutch settlement in what is now known as Lower Manhattan.  Broadway, which was then called Heere Straat (Gentleman Street), was nothing but a small road.  Wall Street actually had a wall back in 1653 to protect the settlers from attacks.  As the city grew, so did the nation.  New York was the first capital of the United States and the spot where George Washington was inaugurated is marked by his statue.  Over the years, Lower Manhattan has become the financial capital of the world.  Today, the streets are teeming with people and filled with stories of New York’s past, present, and future.  As you explore Lower Manhattan with your guide, you’ll see the 9/11 Memorial, St. Paul’s Chapel, Battery Park, and Trinity Church as you learn about the history of the Native Americans, Dutch, and English.

New York's Big Three
Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park: these three sights make up one of the most popular triangles in the world. All within walking distance of one another, they are three of the most visited places in New York City. This walking tour will take you to each location, showing specific highlights and pointing out well-known locations from television and motion pictures.

Central Park
More than just a green space in the middle of Manhattan Island, it is an 843-acre oasis, 150 years in the making, and a favorite retreat for New Yorkers. An essential part of the urban landscape, Central Park is a place no New Yorker can live without. You will follow your guide on the park’s winding paths, over the bridges, through the tunnels, and learn how the architects Olmsted and Vaux created New York’s “backyard”.

Times Square
Also known as “The Great White Way”, located at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. Don’t let the name fool you, it is actually more a triangle of intersecting major streets. It got its name when the NY Times building was built there, long before it was a showcase of neon lights and jumbo digital screens, and the name has stuck ever since.

Rockefeller Center
Located in the center of Midtown Manhattan and a complex of 19 commercial buildings, it is NYC’s top tourist attraction. John D. Rockefeller Jr.’s resolution to make Rockefeller Center contemporary and innovative can be felt with every artwork and attraction.

Your next ride will take you to Bryant Park, once a “no-go” location for even locals but now a prime destination for food, drinks, and shopping. Lower East Side
Discover how the Lower East Side evolved as it welcomed wave after wave of immigrants, including the Irish, Germans, Eastern Europeans, Italians, Chinese, and Latin Americans.  Learn about life in the tenements in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  You will see what people endured to come to America and learn how they lived, worked, and made the best of what they had.  Every culture that passed through the Lower East Side has left its mark; discover an intact synagogue from 1887, and another synagogue that is now a Buddhist temple.  Before the arrival of the immigrants, the area was a farmland.  In fact, Orchard Street on the Lower East Side was named for what it once ran through: Mr. de Lancy’s orchards.  Several stops will be made along the way to illustrate the area’s rich history.

Blue Lagoon experience with transfers – 4 Hours
In the southwest corner of Iceland is the Reykjanes peninsula, less than 1-hour drive from the capital or 20-minute drive from Keflavik International Airport.
There the Mid-Atlantic Ridge comes ashore. The nature is magnificent. Various volcanic formations are found on Reykjanes Peninsula, such as mountains and hills chiefly made of volcanic tuff, large and small lava flows plus different types of volcanoes and volcanic edifices. The Reykjanes peninsula volcanic zone is a direct continuance of the North Atlantic Ridge that surfaces from the ocean at Reykjanes, and it is home to many important geological formations, some of which are utterly unique, including numerous types of volcanoes, naturally carved pools, craters, and geothermal pools.
Few things are cozier than relaxing in a hot pool in the middle of nature. Iceland has an abundance of easily accessible natural pools, but it is perhaps the Blue Lagoon the most spectacular of them all.
The Blue Lagoon was founded in 1992. Its specialty is the geothermal sea, which is two thirds of salt water and one third of fresh water. Blue Lagoon & Reykjanes Peninsula – 8 Hours
In the southwest corner of Iceland is the Reykjanes peninsula, less than 1-hour drive from the capital or 20-minute drive from Keflavik International Airport.
Explore the Reykjanes peninsula and visit the Blue Lagoon. This geothermal area includes solfataras, fumaroles, mud pots and hot springs and sulphur was mined there early in the 18th century and then again in the 19th century. Gunnuhver is the largest mud geyser in Iceland, about 20 metres wide. Grindavik, the small fishing village with about 3000 inhabitants, has a long history, including when pirates from Morocco and Algeria arrived in the 17th century and took fifteen residents to sell as slaves. Additionally, we will take in the magnificent coastline and dramatic breaking waves by the Reykjanes lighthouse and “The Bridge Between the Continents” which connects the American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
Few things are cozier than relaxing in a hot pool in the middle of nature. Iceland has an abundance of easily accessible natural pools, but it is perhaps the Blue Lagoon the most spectacular of them all.

Over a period of 30 years, he created his own world of human beings and animals from stone, iron and bronze. There are about 200 statue groups in all, which describe the course of human life from birth to death. The monolith, a 56-foot-high granite block carved with 121 figures stands as the unequivocal centerpiece of this well-planned park.

Along the ride your driver will tell you more about the Norwegian capital and one of the greatest artists in the country: Edvard Munch. The famous painter grew up in Oslo and started out as an artist in this city. Together with your driver you will follow his footsteps and pass by some of the places that have a significance in his life: his first studio, right in front of the Parliament Building, the Grand Café, a popular hangout for artists in the late 1800s, and Blomqvist art gallery, where he held several exhibitions. We continue towards Pilestredet 30, where Munch spent seven years of his childhood, and then to the campus of the University of Oslo where we will stop to learn about the Aula decorations.

The last stop of the tour is at the Opera House, where you will say goodbye to the rickshaw driver and meet the Opera´s guide, who will show you around this emblematic building in a private tour lasting around 50 minutes.
During the visit you are shown the theatre's unique rooms and stages, visit the backstage area, the Main Stage and talk about what happens behind the scenes before the curtain rises. You will also learn about the architecture, stage technology, opera and ballet.

Malmö and Lund – 7 Hours

Malmö
is Sweden’s third-largest city. Here, Scandinavia's tallest building twists its way skyward, gazing down over the vast Öresund bridge – both modern engineering marvels that reflect multicultural Malmö's progressive outlook.
Focusing on the area around Stortorget (the town square) and lively Lilla Torget (the little square) Malmö's Old Town is a gorgeous warren of cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses.
Located about 2.5km northwest of the Old Town, buzzing, bayside Västra Hamnen represents the modern face of Malmö. It's a popular spot to stroll, sip coffee and browse boutiques, but mostly people come to marvel at the Öresund bridge and the Turning Torso
After Malmö we continue to Lund, founded by the Danes around 1000 AD and once the seat of the largest archbishopric in Europe, Lund is the second-oldest city in Sweden. It's also one of its loveliest, surrounded by beech trees and glowing with an impressive architectural legacy. Its magnificent, medieval old town is centered on its strikingly beautiful cathedral. Radiating around it is the country's oldest, most prestigious university (c 1666). Perhaps ironically, the university keeps Lund young, its vibrant, engaged youth driving a lively arts and culinary scene.

Copenhagen Walking tour in the pursuit of Hygge – 4 Hours

Hygge is as Danish as pork roast and it goes far in illuminating the Danish soul. In essence hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life in the company of good people. The warm glow of candlelight is also hygge. Friends and family – well that’s hygge too.

In the summertime, hygge is spending time in the sun, over a beer at the pier, a picnic in one of the city parks or just hanging out with good friends in one of Copenhagen’s many picturesque and historical back yards.

This 4-hour walking tour will highlight what hygge is all about. The tour starts by exploring the area around the Latin quarters an around the pedestrian street Strøget.

The Latin Quarter is one of the most entertaining areas of Denmark's capital city, with a young-spirited undertone around the vicinity of Copenhagen University. The Latin Quarter is well known for its hang-out spots, alternative shopping and 17th-century architecture.

Part of Danish hygge is having coffee with friends, so we will pick up a cup of coffee to go and a cinnamon roll at Sankt Peders Bakery, Copenhagen oldest bakery which was founded in 1652.

We continue our tour by visiting the church of our Lady. The Copenhagen Cathedral in its present shape is an unpretentious building in Neo-Classicist style designed by the architect C.F. Hansen. It is situated close to the University of Copenhagen. An inside visit to the Round Tower in included. It was built as part of the Trinity Complex, named after the Holy Trinity and designed to accommodate three things: the observatory at the top of the tower, the library on the floor above the Trinity Church and of course the church itself. From its vantage point you will be able to peak into some of Copenhagen’s old, historical and cozy court yards before we head over to the Kings Garden, a popular green spot in the city center.

Although never large in numbers, the Jews in Denmark have nevertheless had a substantial and important influence on Danish culture and history. The sights on your tour includes The Round Tower with its golden Hebrew inscriptions; the statue of the world famous Danish Jewish Nobel Prize winner, Niels Bohr; and the Trinitatis church where the Torah scrolls from the Copenhagen Synagogue were hidden during the Second World War and were thus saved from destruction.

You will be informed of the present day Jewish community, its size and the various components that went into its making. The story of the five dark years under Nazi occupation, the deeds of the Danes and their king, Christian X will not be forgotten.

The Danish Jewish Museum, designed by world famous architect Daniel Libeskind, opened in 2004 and is a must-see for anyone interested in the Jews of Denmark. Located in the center of Copenhagen, the museum is a great starting point for exploring Jewish history in Denmark. The museum presents 400 years of Danish Jewish history, including the rescue and deportation of the Danish Jews in 1943. Christianshavn & Dragør tour – 4 Hours

Narrow cobbled streets, Michelin-starred restaurants and cozy cafes along the canal. Just across the bridge Knippels Bro is Christianshavn, officially part of Copenhagen city centre. Christianshavn is a much-desired area for Copenhageners to live. And it is easy to see why. It is central, full of bars and restaurants and has a unique maritime atmosphere.

Dragør was founded in the 12th century, and it grew quickly as a fishing port. During the medieval period it was an international marketplace for Hanseatic merchants who came each year to buy herring. In the early sixteenth century, King Christian II invited a group of farmers from the Netherlands - at the time, a more agriculturally advanced nation than Denmark - to settle here to produce food for the royal household. You still find many Dutch names on the doors in Dragør. The town center is very idyllic with its characteristic yellow painted houses, thatched straw roofs and cobblestone streets, plus a charming harbor that is still an active fishing port.

Christiansborg Palace is located on the tiny island of Slotsholmen and houses Denmark's Parliament. It is the Prime Minister's residence and where the Queen of Denmark receives visiting royalty and heads of state in its royal reception rooms. In the Marble Hall, see the incredible, colorful tapestries displaying Danish and world history over the past 1,000 year.

Zealand Art Tour with visit of Karen Blixen Museum, Louisiana Museum and traditional Danish lunch – 6 hours
This tour is ideal for those who love culture, art, and literature, as we will visit two of the most emblematic museums in Copenhagen region, driving through the Danish Riviera.

We start our day heading towards Karen Blixen's Museum, located in Rungsted, only 30 mins by car from Copenhagen. Karen Blixen is one of Denmark's most famous authors. Among her best-known literary works are the novel Out of Africa, describing life in Kenya, where she ran a coffee plantation in the outskirts of Nairobi from 1914 to 1931. Out of Africa and the short story Babette's Feast, turned into Oscar-winning films.
The museum occupies the rooms where Karen Blixen lived, and it also houses a gallery featuring Karen Blixen's drawings and paintings, a documentary exhibit on her life and work, a library, a film screening room, a café, a museum shop, and an auditorium used for lectures and special exhibitions.

After enjoying a traditional Danish lunch in a local restaurant, we continue our tour by visiting Louisiana Art Museum, in Humlebaek.

Louisiana is the most visited art museum in Denmark and has an extensive collection of modern and contemporary art, dating from World War II to the present day. In addition, it has a comprehensive program of special exhibitions all year around, achieving its  status as one of the world's most respected exhibition venues  The museum is also acknowledged as a milestone in modern Danish architecture, and is noted for its synthesis of art, architecture, and landscape. A walk in the Sculpture Park is an essential part of the Louisiana experience, offers a special interplay with stunning view over the Øresund and across Sweden ,and where nature, weather and the change of seasons, make the sculptures look very different from time to time

Historical Spa and visit to the Cistern of Copenhagen – 4 hours
This tour will take you on a journey of relaxation in a candlelit historical building. AIRE Spa is inspired by the tradition of baths from ancient Roman, Greek and Ottoman civilizations. Here you will go at your own pace through different baths at different temperatures.

You continue the excursion at the Cisternerne, an old water reservoir built in 1856-1859. The cisterns are located on Frederiksberg Hill, 31 meters above sea level, the highest point of the very flat Danish capital. The natural pressure, when the water was let out, allowed the water to travel all the way up into the new Copenhagen town houses contributing considerably to the improvement of the water supplied to locals.

In 1933 the cisterns stopped functioning as a water reservoir and for many decades these subterranean chambers were forgotten until 2013 when the building became a part of The Frederiksberg Museums.  Today, the old subterranean water reservoir of Soendermarken is home of events and art exhibitions that awaken all senses. The huge dripstone cave is sparsely lit, the climate is moist and cool, and a magical art experience is guaranteed.
