Meet your private chauffeur at the dock and hit the road direction to Coimbra, one of Portugal's oldest cities and home to one of the world's first universities.
 
It was the capital of the country from 1139 to 1256 and its university was founded in 1290. Today this impressive university is still one of the world's most illustrious and the city's biggest attraction. Surrounding it in the old town are fine old churches and narrow streets standing on a hill overlooking the Modego River.
 
Enjoy a private visit to the Old University. Enter through the "Porta Férrea", dating from the 17th century, and continue towards a courtyard known as "Pátio das Escolas". On the north side lies the buildings of the Old University, the east observatory, and the west the small university church.
 
Most impressive of all is the baroque style library, Biblioteca Joanina, one of the world’s most resplendent. It was built in the early 18th century with rooms rich in gilt and exotic wood, and lined with 300,000 books. Enjoy a walking tour through the old part of the city, with a visit to the two cathedrals - the Old Cathedral (“Sé Velha") and the New Cathedral (“Sé Nova").

After lunch, the journey continues direction towards the magnificent medieval city of Óbidos, Portugal’s most romantic medieval town.
 
The entire city of Óbidos was declared a National Monument. It is known as the "Weeding Gift" because it was a gift that D. Dinis gave to Queen Elizabeth on their wedding day in 1282. However, it is not only this fact that makes it such an extraordinarily romantic place - which makes it one of the most romantic medieval towns in Europe are its incredibly picturesque cobbled streets lined with colorful houses full of geraniums and bougainvillea, Gothic doors and windows, whitewashed churches, pots and glazed tiles all surrounded by the walls of a 12th century castle.

Batalha and Alcobaça Majestic Monasteries, Fátima & Óbidos (10 Hours)

First stop will be at Batalha for an independent visit to the Monastery of the Dominicans of Batalha, one of Europe's greatest Gothic masterpieces protected as a World Heritage monument, built to commemorate the victory of the Portuguese over the Castilians at the battle of Aljubarrota in 1385. 
 
Proceed to Alcobaça, and independent visit the Alcobaça Monastery, Europe's greatest Cistercian temple.  Founded in 1153 to commemorate a victory against the Moors, it was finally completed in 1223. It is now Portugal's largest church, and one of its outstanding architectural monuments. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and its excellent state of preservation makes it the finest example of Cistercian architecture in Europe.
 
Next stop will be Fátima, one of the largest Catholic shrines in the world since 1937.

Alenquer for Wine Lovers & Óbidos (6 - 8 Hours)

Today, meet your private chauffeur at the dock and hit the road towards Alenquer, for an exclusive treat at selected wine Estate, a wonderful and enchanting property for its buildings architecture and for its beautiful vineyards.
 
This wine estate is located in the surroundings of Aldeia Galega and it spreads over the sunny hills’ of Alenquer, a Delimited Region in the northwest of Lisboa. Its historical and excellent vineyards are known since the 16th century and have belonged to Diogo Duff, a brave Scottish man who received the "Tower and Sword" insignia, given by King João VI. Alice and Paulo Tavares da Silva bought the estate in the 1980s and made significant investments in its 45ha of vineyard. The introduction of new cultivation methods has allowed the family to consolidate the quality and reputation of their wines.
 
In an accompanied visit, you can get to know the wine making technology and methods used in the Quinta to produce their elegant wines, learning every step of the wine process. After understand how the wines are produced, see for yourself how they are stored during the ageing process that gives them some of their most typical characteristic. Follows a private and lectured wine tasting, lectured by the responsible for the oenology department, Sandra Tavares da Silva, the daughter of the owners, or by the resident oenologist, so you can confirm the high quality of their product. The family will invite you for lunch at their house.
 
Sandra is making wines in both Estremadura and the Douro, which necessitates travelling between the two regions three times a week. Since then her day job has been as winemaker for Christiano Van Zeller at Quinta do Vale D. Maria in the Douro. In 2000 she began making wines from her parents Estremadura estate, at the Quinta you will visit. With their depth of fruit and fine structure these have rapidly established a reputation as being among the best of the appellation.

Dressage Experience, Wine & Lunch with the Countess (6 - 8 Hours)

Your day begins when you are collected at the port by your chauffeured luxury vehicle. Drive direction to Muge in order to visit a magnificent Horse & Wine Estate.
 
This estate belongs to the Álvares Pereira de Melo family for almost four centuries. In this House lived during over a year the Queen Leonor, third wife of King Manuel I, sister of the Emperor D. Carlos V and mother of Infanta Dona Maria.
 
Upon arrival at the estate, you will be welcomed by the master rider at the Riding Hall and you will have the opportunity to ride a Lusitano Stallion for a classical dressage lesson.
 
After this unforgettable experience, you will have time to taste their wines from the different varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir) as well as selected blends such as Padre Pedro, Herdade de Muge and Marquees of Cadaval. The house oenologist will lecture you on the “secret” flavours while you taste.
 
Then, you will be invited by the owner (Countess Teresa Álvares Pereira Schönborn-Wiesentheid) of the Domain, to have lunch at the Palace. *Subject to availability
 
After lunch, a cart pulled by two noble studs, expects you to explore this very unique farm, going through the vineyards, natural reserve where you will meet the mares and foals. Your day at the farm is almost ending but, before leaving, tea will be served by the lake spotted with local birds,in magic scenery of tranquillity.

It is dominated by a 12th-century Templar castle containing one of the country most significant and impressive monuments, the Convent of Christ (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO).

The Jewish quarter, an area was once inhabited by traders, artists and scientists, was in the centre of the town, close to the Rua Direita and the beautiful 16th century Renaissance church of Santa Maria, where it is possible to appreciate the paintings of Josefa d'Obidos, one of the most important 17th century Portuguese artists.
 
Since it was the property of the queens of Portugal, Obidos always enjoyed special protection from the royal court and at one time had a school of arts and sciences. The effects of all this culture are clearly evident in its artistic heritage, in particular the Manueline palace that was built inside the castle walls (now converted into the Obidos Pousada).

Lisbon Jewish Inheritance (6 - 8 Hours)

Today, with the assistance of your guide, visit the Sha'are Tikva (Gates of Hope) Synagogue. In 1871 the Jews of Lisbon were granted permission to build a synagogue, a dream not fully realized until the dedication of the Shaare Tikva in 1904. The synagogue served as the centre of Jewish life in Lisbon thereafter; it was a sanctuary for the thousands of Jewish refugees who passed through Portugal during World War II.
 
For lunch (not included) we suggest an informal and cheerful restaurant whit natural blend of the traditional and the modern. The cuisine, largely Portuguese inspired, is nevertheless influenced by travels abroad.
 
Passing the Rossio, the original headquarters of the Inquisition, reach the Largo da Graça, from where you can admire the magnificent city view, the Tagus River, and the “Seven Hills” of Lisbon. Continue to Porta do Sol, descending on foot through Alfama, Lisbon's oldest area.
 
The city's legendary seven hills will also seduce you into admiring characteristic mosaic pavements and dazzling tiled façades, and will reward you with strategically-placed viewpoints offering breathtaking panoramas over the city after a ride on a charming old tram.
 
Explore the Alfama district, the Lisbon heart during Moorish times. The Moors have moved on, but the neighborhood retains an exotic atmosphere. Visit to the St. Georges Castle formerly a Moorish citadel. The castle boasts panoramic views of the city.

Jewish refugees from Spain settled here in the fifteenth century. The entrance to the neighborhood’s Jewish quarter, or Judiaría, was through the Arco de Rosario. 
 
Just inside the arch is a brick wall with a pair of decorative arched windows near the top - all that remains of what is believed to have been the quarter's synagogue. Up the winding stairway just inside the arch is the Rua da Judiaría, the central artery of the former Jewish quarter. The typical medieval houses have a narrow door that was the family entrance and a wider one that often housed the place of business, such as a shop or workshop.

Visitors can look into it from different levels for close-ups of the various creatures, including different species of sharks.

Sintra and its mystical hills dotted with fairytale palaces and extravagant villas have bewitched visitors for centuries. The Romans made it a place of cult moon worshiping and named it "Cynthia" after the goddess of the moon. They were followed by the Moors who also fell in love with the lush vegetation and built a hilltop castle, a palace, and several fountains around the town. Later it became the summer residence of the Portuguese royal family and attracted a number of wealthy aristocrats who built huge mansions and villas.

  • As you head towards the world-famous Macy's department store, you’ll pass by Bryant Park’s popular Winter Village where you’ll spy festive kiosks filled with vendors selling holiday gifts, crafts, seasonal treats and more.

  • Upon arrival at Macy’s, you’ll marvel at the meticulously designed window displays that evoke the spirit of the holidays as they beckon the crowds to slow down and enjoy the season.

  • From there you’ll continue to Fifth Avenue to take in more elaborate window displays courtesy of the rest of the city’s major retailers, as well as entire buildings decked out in festive lighting, accents – and – in some cases even music – all bringing joy to passersby of all ages.

• Slip Sliding Away: Your walking tour ends when you arrive at that world-famous brilliantly illuminated Christmas tree that towers over Rockefeller Center. Here you’ll continue to embrace the spirit of the season with VIP Skating at the Rockefeller Plaza Rink where you and your loved ones can glide on the ice under the tree’s twinkling lights. This joyous experience will have you gliding across the ice at Central Park's famed Wollman Rink, enjoying a horse-drawn carriage ride along spectacularly illuminated 5th Avenue or through the picturesque landscapes of Central Park and delighting in the expertise of your private guide as you immerse yourself in the dazzling light displays in Manhattan or Brooklyn. This year, uncover the city's festive spirit in the most personalized way while creating cherished memories with your loved ones!

Tour Duration:  Approximately 6 Hours (Or Can Be Split Up Into Multiple Days)

Tour Can Operate:  

The NYC Christmas Lights Carriage Ride is 50 minutes with a photo stop.

• Times available - 8:45 pm, 9:40 pm, 10:35 pm and 11:30 pm.
• Should the Christmas Lights Ride not be available, we will substitute it with the Private Horse & Carriage Ride in Central Park (45 minutes).
• There are no lights to be seen with the Private Horse & Carriage Ride in Central Park as Central Park is dark.
• From Thanksgiving through November 30th holiday lights rides won’t feature Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree & won’t have the full light shows and displays on Fifth Ave.
• Carriage can accommodate up to four adults or three adults and two children under 12 years old.

Skating is available from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm Wednesday through Sunday and from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
