Israel to Require ETA-IL for Entry by US Citizens as of August 1, 2024

As of August 1, 2024, US citizens must have an approved Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) or a visa to enter Israel for business or tourism purposes for stays up to 90 days. Travelers can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) application online prior to travel for a cost of 25 shekels. Upon approval, travelers will receive an eTA confirmation electronically. Travelers will be required to present a valid passport with a matching eTA prior to boarding a flight to Israel.

The eTA will be electronically linked to the traveler’s passport for up to two years; if a traveler applies for a new passport, they must apply for a new eTA. For more information, please visit the US State Department’s website to review entry requirements or consult this Israeli government webpage: Reciprocal Privileges for U.S. Citizens at Border Control.
