It is also known as La Ciudad del Yunque (Yunque City) and was founded in July 25, 1840 by the Deriderio Brothers and Quilimaco Escobar. And if you're not there for the festivities, its visitors can take a 10-minute drive to the only tropical rain forest within the United States National Forest System.
