As the name Graham would suggest, Johnny's family has a background in the Port trade: his family owned Graham, one of the most well-known of the Port houses which was sold to the Symingtons in 1970. Churchill's Port grew from John Graham's desire to continue his family's Port making tradition by setting up a company to produce his own, individual style of wine. It was his wife, Caroline Churchill, who provided the company with its name. Churchill's is today positioned in the industry as a high-quality boutique Port and Douro Wine Company, specializing in premium Port and Douro Wine categories.
Lunch (not included) will be served at an informal and cheerful restaurant whit natural blend of the traditional and the modern. The cuisine, largely Portuguese inspired, is nevertheless influenced by travels abroad.

This Wine Estate is mentioned for the first time in a document dated April 1738, where it is referred to as "the Pacheca" because it was owned by D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was only in 1903 that Dom José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to develop his interest in oenology, bought the property and began to devote to the winemaking business.

During the morning, you'll indulge in a private visit to the newest of the British-owned Port companies, founded in 1981 by Johnny Graham. You will be invited to a lectured wine tasting with some of their best wines.
As the name Graham would suggest, Johnny's family has a background in the Port trade: his family owned Graham, one of the most well-known of the Port houses which was sold to the Symingtons in 1970. Churchill's Port grew from John Graham's desire to continue his family's Port making tradition by setting up a company to produce his own, individual style of wine. It was his wife, Caroline Churchill, who provided the company with its name. Coimbra & Conímbriga Ruins (6 - 8 Hours)

It was the capital of the country from 1139 to 1256 and its university was founded in 1290. Today this impressive university is still one of the world's most illustrious and the city's biggest attraction. Surrounding it in the old town are fine old churches and narrow streets standing on a hill overlooking the Modego River.
During the morning, enjoy an independent visit to Conimbriga, one of the great Roman archaeological finds in Europe and one of the best preserved in the Iberian Peninsula. Enjoy some leisure time to explore the ruins of Conimbriga on your own.
Lunch (not included) will be served in a restaurant that offers an informal atmosphere and sharing concept. Indulge in a "Market Kitchen", which uses the region's traditional products to create unique recipes, renewed four times a year, to the rhythm of the seasons.
